Optimal Christian Academy

Optimal Christian Academy is a private, accredited, co-educational facility providing quality care and education for students K-8th grades. The Board of Directors of Optimal Schools operates Optimal Christian Academy.
Optimal Schools admits students of any Race, Color, Nationality or Ethnic Origin. All rights, privileges, programs and activities are available to all students of Optimal Christian Academy. Optimal Schools do not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, national or ethnic origin in the admissions of its educational policies, athletics, and school administered programs.

At Optimal Christian Academy we believe that teachers who demonstrate a strong Christian walk filled with the fruit of the Holy Spirit, and a balanced positive attitude are best suited to teach children. Members of our staff have accepted Christ as their personal Savior, are active in the church of their choice, and believe that they have been called of God to work with children.
Our qualified personnel exceed the approved standards for education and experience set forth by the State of California which includes Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in single and multi-subject elementary and middle school departments. In addition, our staff members pursue further growth by means of continued coursework and seminars as they become available. In-service staff development training is a continuous process throughout the school term. Staff is trained in CPR/First Aid.

It is our desire to give the student every opportunity to grow to be self-responsible and self-directing. We do not expect any child to be "perfect" and try to deal with problems by letting the child develop his/her own reasoning power and experience satisfaction of his decision.
One of the most important ingredient in education is discipline. Discipline is training. The Bible encourages us to, "Train up a child," Proverbs 22:6. Developing character traits which we feel are consistent with Christian principles is an on-going objective.
We believe discipline is necessary for the welfare of the student as well as for the entire school. Discipline is a means of teaching and instituting in each student a sense of right and wrong. Discipline is meant to bring about positive change. If a young person is going the wrong way and is developing harmful patterns of life, loving discipline can bring about change, and change brings hope for a better future. Hebrews 12:5-11 expands on the fruit of discipline in our lives.
Discipline is maintained, which is firm and consistent, yet tempered with the kindness approach finds what is good rather than concentrating upon what is not. Most discipline actions are handled by simply redirecting the student, making sure the student understands the behavior is unacceptable and giving the student an acceptable alternative. The teacher is cautious to make it clear to the student that it is the behavior that the teacher does not like, not the student. Should the negative behavior continue, the student will be removed from the classroom and parent contacted.
Biblically, the authority and responsibility for discipline rest with the parents. Constant demonstration of an uncooperative spirit through continual disobedience and negative attitude will result in the student's immediate dismissal.
In cases of danger, defiance or destruction, this will include from a one day suspension to expulsion from Optimal 's program. If, at any time, any parent/guardian uses profanity or threats in dealing with their student's teacher or administrative staff, the student will immediately be expelled from this Optimal. This type of behavior will not be tolerated under any circumstance.
“Listen to counsel and accept discipline, that you may be wise the rest of your days”. Provers 19:20
